1. Create the Shimmering Gold Base


The first layer sets the stage for your stunning St. Paddy's resin coaster. Here's how to achieve a rich, gold-infused foundation:

  • Mix the Resin: Using a 1:1 mix ratio by volume, combine Part A and Part B of the Table Top Epoxy into a mixing container. Stir slowly to avoid introducing excess bubbles.   • Add Gold Foil: Sprinkle gold foil into your mixture, and gentle stir to distribute it evenly throughout the resin. 
  • Pour the First Layer: Carefully pour the gold-infused resin into the coaster mold, ensuring it fully covers the bottom. 
  • Let It Cure: Allow this layer to cure completely for at least 12 hours before proceeding. 

This golden layer will give your coaster a luxurious and festive touch, reminiscent of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

2. Add White Wisps for a Magical Touch


Adding delicate white wisps to your St. Paddy's resin coaster creates a dreamy, ethereal effect. Follow these steps:

  • Prepare Pigmented Resin: Mix a small amount of resin with a tiny drop of white pigment paste. Stir well until fully blended. Pro Tip: Before you add the gold foils into your first mixture, pour a small amount into a separate container and save it for this step. 
  • Pour a Thin Layer: Pour a thin layer of this tinted resin over the cured gold layer. 
  • Create Wisps: Use a heat gun to blow the white resin gently, forming wispy, flowing designs. This is similar to creating ocean waves for those of you who are familiar with that technique. 
  • Let It Cure: Allow this layer to cure for at least 12 hours before moving on to the next step. 

These soft white swirls add a cloud-like elegance to your design, complementing the natural elements you'll add next. 

3. Incorporate Dried Clovers & Daisies


Now comes the most charming part - adding real dried clovers and daisies! These elements bring nature's beauty into your St. Paddy's resin coaster, enhancing its festive theme. 

  • Arrange Your Florals: Gently place the dried clovers and daisies onto the cured resin surface. Arrange them however you like - clustered together or spread out for a delicate touch. 
  • Secure Them in Place: If necessary, use a tiny drop of fully mixed clear resin to lightly adhere the florals before pouring the next layer. 
  • Let It Cure: Allow everything to set so the flowers don't shift when adding the final resin layer. 

4. Seal With a Final Resin Layer


To ensure a smooth and glossy finish for your St. Paddy's resin coaster, seal everything in with a final pour of clear resin. 

  • Mix & Pour: Prepare another small batch of clear resin and carefully pour it over the floral arrangement, fully encasing the florals. 
  • Remove Air Bubbles: Use a heat gun, torch, or spritz of isopropyl alcohol to pop any bubbles that rise to the surface. 
  • Let It Fully Cure: Leave your coaster undisturbed in a dust-free area to cure completely (24-48 hours is recommended for a hard, glass-like finish). 

5. Demold & Add Gold Leaf Edging


Once your St. Paddy's resin coaster is fully cured, it's time for the finishing touches! 

  • Gently Demold: Carefully remove the coaster from the silicone mold. If it resists, flex the mold slightly to release it. 
  • Refine the Edges: If needed, sand any rough edges for a smoother finish. If you're using a geode silicone mold this will not likely be necessary. 
  • Apply Gold Leafing: Use a gold leafing pen to trace the outer rim of the coaster, adding an elegant, refined touch. 
  • Let It Dry: Allow the gold edging to dry completely before handling your coaster.

  • Avoid Overheating: When using a heat gun, keep it moving to prevent burning the resin or the silicone mold. If you hold the heat over the silicone mold the edges will fuse with the epoxy. 
  • Experiment with Pigment Effects: Add a hint of green pigment to your white wisps for extra St. Paddy's charm.
